Roku Compact Interface

Roku Brightsign Multi-Function GPIO Board

ROKU_HD_GPIO

for Brightsign Compact HD410, HD810 & HD1010

Features:

Microprocessor Controller and the modes of operations are as follows selected by jumpers on the 'Options Header':

Default Operation (Not Option 3) is 5 inputs to the Brightsign (inputs 0-4) and the 3 remaining I/O's (5-7) are then used in a binary scheme to control the outputs (1 of 5 outputs).  See the schematic  for the binary conversion table.

Option 1: Lamp cycle if no lamps selected (acts as an attract mode).

Option 2: Dim Feature Enabled if no lamps selected.

Option 3 Not Binary Coded Output: The Unit defaults to 4 inputs (inputs 0-3) and 4 outputs (outputs 0-3).  Do not utilize input 4 in this configuration.

Option4: Cycle Diagnostic for the Lamp connections:  Each Output is sequencially turned on (0,1,2,3,4,5).  This Cycle pattern repeats until the jumper is removed.

See the schematic for pin outs and connections.

Note: External Supply Voltage:  An External Power Supply is needed to power the loads on the output connector.  Do not connect any loads that have their own power that exceeds the power as applied to the board using the 'Ext. Power Connector'.  Doing so may result in damage to the board.  I.E. Suppose that 12 volts is supplied to this board and you have a relay board with it's own power of 24Volts DC that powers the relays.  The 24VDC will feed back into the board via the foldback diodes.  Note: Foldback diodes are required for inductive loads such as relays or small motors.
