Note: Cable Lengths: Input cables can be very long (500 ft) if there is low 'electrical noise'. Suitable cables are Ribbon Cable, CAT-5, Telephone cable, multi-conductor and single wires. If there is enough electrical noise to false trigger the Brightsign inputs, use a shielded cable or twisted pair cable and tie one of the twisted pairs to 0V (zero volts or what some people would call ground) The Output cable length can be even longer (more than 1000ft) if driving low current devices like LED back lights. The Output cable length will have no effect on my I/O boards other than possible loss of power to the load (lamps etc.). The Brightsign inputs have 1K pull-up resistors and 100 ohm input resistors.
Note: There are other 'non production' items available. such as a Triac daughter board for controlling kiosk lighting (no agency approvals such as U.L. or CE). There is also a GPIO board with the triac circuit built in for controlling a 120VAC accessory. No requests to date for this, so the board is on hand, just not setup. The serial port of the Brightsign can be used for any number of features. I.E. Any number of inputs, Any number of Lamp drivers and DMX-512 controlling or 120VAC control of lighting. If you have a need of a custom DMX512 board for operating special devices, please inquire.
Please inquire if you have a custom requirement for interfacing! Turn around can be a little as two weeks.
