Light Bars

This light bar has RGB (tri-color) LED's.  It is perfect for back lighting of signs or for 'shadow lighting' 3D style signs.

The boards shown are for 5 volt power source.  The boards are able to be put in series so that long bars can be assembled.  A maximum of 5 light bars should be put in series.  The boards have mounting holes every 1/2 inch.  They can be cut in order to obtain a custom length without loss of function.  Just cut them to the right of the last LED required.  There are 4 wires required to drive the boards.  To series the boards, just jumper JP2 From one board to JP1 of the next board (pin for pin).

The wires connect to the terminal JP1 or JP2 as follows:

These high intensity LED's can technically supply a million colors.  However, in reality, they are best suited for 8-16 colors as most of the million colors would be too dark to see.

I have a controller (in progress) that will drive the LED's so that 9 colors are provided on a timed basis.  This controller will also have the ability to monitor ambient light and turn on the lights at dusk. The controller will also have a switch to enable/disable charging of a 12volt battery using a 'solar cell'.

These 'RGB' or Tri-Color LED's are expensive.  They cost me nearly $1.50 each.

Prices:

LB10-5-10 (10 LED's)    $25    (1-25)

LB10-5-5 (5 LED's)    $15    (1-25)

Controller (in progress), $50. (1-25)
