'Ultrasonic Proximity Detector'

Note: UPD-Box is the board assembly
w/box, UPD-Box-MR is the board assembly with moisture resistant coating w/box.
Features:

- LED for trip indication
- Distance selection available outside the enclosure
- 3.3 volt operation (direct connection to the various HMS interface boards
or BrightSign)
- Up to 3 UPD boards can be connected to the GPIO of the BrightSign.
'UPD-MR' Version has a moisture resistant clear coat applied to all
surfaces of both the main board and the daughter board (ultrasonic daughter
board). The 'adjustment' openings and the LED opening should be protected from
direct rain either with tape or mounted down. Although the box is not a
moisture resistant design, it will self purge any moisture trapped inside and
the clear coat will protect the board.. No guarantee against failure due to the
elements. The box is shipped with a moisture resistant compound applied to the
phone jack connector. The box should be protected from direct rain!
The RJ/11 connections are as follows (requires 6 conductor telephone cable)
Note: It is recommended that both wires be tied together as specified below)
0V = Red and Green (GPIO-0V)
3.3V = Black and Yellow (GPIO-3V)
MD (Motion Detect goes low with detection) = Blue and White
(GPIO-BTNx). Connect the motion detect wires to any GPIO input (button 0
through button 7)
Description:
This 'UPD' board has sensitivity range from 4 inches to 34 inches in 2
inch increments. The distance selection is available on the side of the
board (box).
For connections to terminal block order the 'DB15-TB10-3V' terminal block
adapter and the HMS-6PH-TB-xx Cable (xx is the
number of feet).
Also available is the DB15-RJ11-6-2 (2 RJ11-6 phone connectors for the phone
cable).
Distance Selection Switch:
Position Switch 
- 0 = 4 inches
- 1 = 6 inches
- 2 = 8 inches
- 3 = 10 inches
- 4 = 12 inches
- 5 = 14 inches
- 6 = 16 inches
- 7 = 18 inches
- 8 = 20 inches
- 9 = 22 inches
- 10 = 24 inches
- 11 = 26 inches
- 12 = 28 inches
- 13 = 30 inches
- 14 = 32 inches
- 15 = 34 inches
Note: Soft targets such as furs and pile sweaters may not work well above 20
inches.
