BrightSign DMX Receiver Interface

Control the BrightSign with a DMX Controller!

USB-S3-485X     USB-S3-485X (DMX Receiver)

Brightsign DMX Receiver ( a DMX Controller  runs the Brightsign).

Note: If you need 'inverted serial signals' for the 3.5mm TTL-Serial connection, contact HMS Technical Support.

Features:

Description:

This board is a DMX 'Receiver' for interfacing to a Brightsign via a DMX controller. Any 'new' byte from the DMX controller is converted to ascii and sent to the BrightSign USB port (or serial port).  The BrightSign will automatically convert the text to a decimal value because the string is a decimal number.

I.E. if the DMX controller sends a data value of '0' to the selected address, then this board sends "0",13 (ascii value of 0 plus a carriage return).

If the byte is 255, then this board sends "255",13 -> ascii(2) ascii (5) ascii(5) 13 (3 bytes plus carriage return).

When the BrightSign receives the carriage return that signals 'end of text'.  Then when evaluating the text, the text evaluates to a number.  I.E. "255",13 evaluates to decimal 255.

Note: If using the TTL serial port of the BrightSign, 'Invert Serial' must be selected.  Some models of BrightSigns do not have this feature.  You can determine compatibility by trying to setup the serial port in BrightAuthor and see if 'invert serial' is an option for your model.
